Direct variable output

A variable or a constant can be displayed directly in both workspace and scripts.

    x <- 1 2 3
    x
1 2 3
    'abc'
abc

[] and [) functions

• [] is used to display the content of a value and print a return at the end.
• [) is the same as the function [] except that there is no a new line at the end.

    []<-x
1 2 3

Note

The direct variable output can’t display all values if screen limititation is reached. Therefore, the function [] allows display all rows and columns, especially when you have a large table.
